EASY Peanut Butter Cake

Writer's picture: Future Wifey EssentialsFuture Wifey Essentials

Last night the sugar craving that you're not supposed to get hit reallllllyyy hard. I whipped up a peanut butter cake that was made out of what I had in my cabinets and hubby LOVED it. Like, seriously raved. It was DELICIOUS.

Without any delays, assuming you're already kinda hangry, here is my EASY homemade peanut butter cake.

Ingredients for the Cake:

2 Cups Flour

2 Cups Sugar

1 tsp Baking Soda

1/2 Cup of Milk

2 Eggs

2 tsp Vanilla

1 Cup Water

3/4 Cup of your favorite Peanut Butter

Ingredients for the PB Frosting:

1/2 Cup Butter -- Softened

1 Cup Peanut Butter

1/2 Cup Milk

2 Cups Sugar (Powder sugar works, too - I just didn't have any!)

Let's Get Started!!

Preheat your oven to 350.

Grab some butter and grease your baking dish, I used a 9x13 non-stick pan

Combining your Flour, Sugar and Baking Soda into a large (HEAT RESISTANT) bowl and whisk together.

Slowly add milk, eggs and your vanilla to the bowl, mixing thoroughly.

Grab a saucepan, add your water, butter and peanut butter (for the cake portion) Heat this mixture on medium and blend ingredients. Once ingredients are a nice smooth mixture, combine with Flour mixture in your heat resistant bowl and mix well.

Once mixed evenly, pour into your greased baking dish, if you know your dishware sticks add a little flour before pouring in your batter. Bake for 40 minutes (give or take depending on your oven quality) Always double check batter with a toothpick and make sure it comes back clean.

The hardest part is letting the cake cook before adding your icing, but patience is a virtue, right?

Cream together the butter and your peanut butter while slowly adding sugar. If you see the mixture getting too dry to hesitate to slowly mix in your milk.

Once your sugar in blended to your preferred consistency, it's ready to go!

Once Cake is Cooled, add your peanut butter frosting and a big cup of milk! :)

Enjoy!!
